Beloved,
May these words find you nesting within your inner tranquility.
This week has been a tumultuous one for me—brutal at times, to be honest. As riots spread across the country, stirring hearts and igniting rage, I made a conscious decision to disconnect from the chaos for the sake of my own peace of mind. And here’s what I’ve come to realize: no thing and no one is worth sacrificing my clarity and composure.
There are storms we cannot weather—forces too powerful to resist, meant to run their course. But in the midst of these tempests, we have the choice to return to ourselves, step away from the world whenever needed, and descend into the peace that lies within. This peace, I've discovered, can only be found inside, at the moment.
Things will not come down for a while on the outside, therefore it becomes important to remember that our inner sanctuary is always within reach. It's where true peace resides, waiting to embrace us, no matter how fierce the storm.
On a more cheerful note, I am excited to announce that my book ‘Living Big: Extraordinary You in an Ordinary World’ will be released very soon. The final touches have been made, and I believe we are just about ready to go, making this an especially special early birthday present to myself—and to you, of course.
It's hard to believe that August 24th is almost here, and with it, the beginning of a new chapter. There's only one more video left before I embark on this next journey. This week's video is a bit longer than usual, but I felt it was important to spend some extra time together as we prepare for this exciting transition.
In no particular order, here below are 10 more things that define me and help me live as well as I can:
Some people will never change their mind about you: wish them well and keep doing you
Don't disrespect your younger self by trying to re-live old stories
Grief comes to see us in stages: befriend it and its visits will become shorter in time
Never go without smelling a nice flower or patting your dog’s belly: everything else can wait
Our commitment to stick with each other’s flaws renews the marriage’s vows
Don’t turn loved ones into saints when they go: accept their sins while they are still close
Recycling gift wrapping seems a cute idea until it takes up way too much space
Fireworks are way too pretty and short to film. Just enjoy the damn thing and put your phone away.
There is often someone writing the mail you receive every day. Be kind.
The only car you’ll ever own for the rest of your life is your body. Fill it up with good stuff.
I’m so grateful for your support and can't wait to see you next week. Until then, stay safe my darling friend. These are wild times and require a little care and much awareness.
